Description of the area:
Séptimo Paraíso is located in the Mindo Valley. It is surrounded by 1050 acres (420 hectares) of cloud forest with fantastic trails for nature and bird-watching (more than 300 bird species). Several species of mammals had been found such as puma, spectacled bear, black howler monkey, capuchin monkey Andean coati, armadillos, white tailed and brocket deer, two toed sloth to name some. Also an incredible amount of reptile and amphibian species had been found, plus an overwhelming number of plant species. The drastic altitude changes from 2850 feet (950 meters) to 4950 feet (1650 meters) above the sea level in addition to the isolation of the region that has created one of the most delicate, but rich and complex ecosystems known in the Mindo region.
It has 22 comfortable rooms with private bathroom, restaurant, bar and cafeteria. It offers pool and jacuzzi and bar facilities.

Hostería Séptimo Paraíso is located at just 1 1/2 hours from Quito, Ecuador; 1 mile from la Y de Mindo, towards the village.
Making a difference:
Séptimo Paraíso Cloud Forest Reserve is a family run business.
It has a small recycling plant. It produces paper and recycles everything from glass and plastic to metal, wood and organics.
It gives employment to people from the community and hires local guides for it tours and summer camps.
Conserving the Cloud Forest with its fauna and flora is prime to the success of its business. Septimo Paraiso believes that conservation must be a good industry for it to survive and keep a balance between business and the ecosystem.
