Description of the area:

The Green Grotto Caves & Attractions is located in Discovery Bay, St. Ann Jamaica. The caves, which are just over 1.5 miles from the spot at which Christopher Columbus landed in 1494, were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655. The caves were a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th Century and between the two World Wars, were used by smugglers running arms to Cuba.

In close proximity to the Caves, is the world famous Dunn’s River Falls & Park, Jamaica’s signature attraction. Here visitors can embark on a guided climb of the 940-foot falls or just relax on the beach.
